Stuffed Clown For My Baby

When you have kids, after a few years it seems like you start to get a collection of stuffed animals. There are so many cute and loveable stuffed animals out there. They are a great gift for almost anyone or any occasion. One time when visiting relatives, they gave my first-born baby a little stuffed clown. It was cute but nothing out of the ordinary. She latched onto that little clown and was not happy when it was out of her site. She loved that thing. Her grandmother one time was at the grocery store with her. She was about 8 months old, sitting in a shopping cart. She would watch the shoppers coming in the door. As they came in she would determine which customers looked nice and then she would throw the clown on the floor. The nice shopper would pick up the clown and tell her how cute she was and she would give them a dazzling smile back in return. What a kid!! Occasionally I had to sneak the clown away to wash it. Being rather old when it was given to her, it was not long before it started to come apart at the seams. I was always sewing it together. We finally had to say "good bye" to the clown who took a trip to the dumpster.

Stuffed Tiger

It always seemed like we had way more stuffed animals then we had room for. One year our #7 son, who was then about 8 years old at the time, asked for a stuffed animal for Christmas. He said that he had never gotten one for his own. What?? How could that have happened? We had so many around the house. But, he told me; he did not have one that was his. I told myself that he was too old for a stuffed animal and that he would probably rather have something more "fun". He let me know that his hearts true desire was a stuffed animal. So, for Christmas we got him a stuffed animal. I thought that he was too old for a cute bear so I got him a stuffed tiger. He loved it. He slept with it every night. The tiger was his friend; someone that he could hug whenever he wanted too and the tiger would comfort him back. He still has that tiger today
